General Manager (Expatriate) – East Africa

About the role
Mobikey, part of Grupo JAP, is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its operations across Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. This expatriate position offers full responsibility for business performance, operational excellence and sustainable growth in the East African market.
Key responsibilities
- Define and execute the overall business strategy for Mobikey in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya, delivering strong P&L results, growth and operational efficiency.
- Drive commercial development by identifying new opportunities, building partnerships and strengthening market presence.
- Lead, develop and motivate local teams, fostering a high‑performance culture and robust leadership routines.
- Ensure operational excellence across sales, after‑sales/service, parts, logistics and administration, aligned with Grupo JAP standards.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, reporting cadence and governance to support decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with local regulations, internal policies and brand/manufacturer standards.
- Represent the company with key stakeholders, partners, authorities and corporate clients while ensuring alignment with headquarters.
Required profile
- Proven experience in general management, country management or business‑unit leadership, preferably in automotive, mobility, equipment or services sectors.
- Strong track record of managing P&L, budgets and multi‑department operations.
- Commercial mindset with solid negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Leadership experience in international or emerging‑market contexts.
- High autonomy, resilience and adaptability for an expatriate assignment.
- Fluency in English (mandatory); Portuguese is a plus.
- Willingness to relocate to East Africa.
