General Monitoring Officer

About the role

Oya Microcredit Limited is hiring a General Monitoring Officer, reporting to the Operations Manager. The position covers monitoring client accounts, following up on overdue payments and supporting collection activities. It is a full-time role with flexible placement across various regions of the country.

Key responsibilities

• Identify customers due for collection and ensure timely repayments
• Monitor client accounts and follow up on overdue payments by call and field visit
• Evaluate the financial status of potential and existing clients
• Conduct risk assessments and prepare detailed reports
• Monitor the loan portfolio and identify potential default risks
• Recommend and implement debt recovery solutions and negotiate repayment plans with clients in default
• Provide daily and weekly collection/payment schedules to clients and field officers
• Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio performance reports for management
• Support credit review meetings with accurate data and insights, and track product performance through data analysis
• Follow up with internal teams to reconcile payments and ensure accurate transaction posting
• Send regular repayment reminders, monitor defaulters and present repayment records as required
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field
• 1-3 years' experience in a similar role such as portfolio or credit monitoring
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Willingness to conduct field visits for collections and client follow-ups
