About the role
The School of Pharmacy at Mount Kenya University seeks Graduate Assistants to support teaching, learning and research activities. The position is full‑time, on‑site in Thika and involves assisting lecturers, supervising students and contributing to academic projects.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in curriculum development and review, preparing course outlines and learning content.
- Teach diploma and certificate courses, set, invigilate and administer examinations.
- Supervise student projects, attend defence meetings and monitor attendance requirements.
- Conduct research, prepare publications, present at conferences and attract research funding.
- Facilitate field studies, assess students during attachments/internships and support departmental meetings.
- Carry out administrative duties as assigned, including maintaining academic records.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with Upper Second‑Class honors.
- At least one year of teaching experience in a recognized academic institution.
- Registered for a relevant Master’s degree programme.
- Registered with the Pharmacy & Poisons Board.
