About the role

The Head of Country & Business Development (HCBD) reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for expanding the company’s presence in the assigned country. This senior position combines market growth, operational optimisation, and staff development within the construction sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and emerging trends in the design‑and‑build industry.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans aligned with corporate goals.
  • Identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with prospective clients, partners and key stakeholders.
  • Participate in monthly online Command Centre meetings and contribute to policy formation.
  • Lead operational optimisation, staff development programmes and performance reviews.
  • Liaise with external consultants such as lawyers and accountants.
  • Assist in budget preparation, draft policies and implement the organisation’s strategy.
  • Travel across Africa as required, ensuring compliance with passport validity requirements.

Required profile

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in construction business development.
  • Current international passport with more than one year before expiry.
  • Fluency in a local language, the regional lingua franca and English.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and independent working abilities.

  • Microsoft Office Suite

What we offer

  • Flexible salary based on experience, minimum $30,000 per annum basic.
  • Performance bonuses and additional perquisites as stated in the offer letter.

  • Full‑time contract with a six‑month probation period.
  • Flexible working hours (8 am – 6 pm, Monday‑Friday) and a flexible hours policy.
