Head of Finance

About the role

Somtrade Limited is looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Finance to lead the financial operations of its Container Freight Station (CFS) in Mombasa. The role will drive financial planning, budgeting, reporting and compliance to support the company’s growth and financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial activities of the CFS, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and manage financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and internal controls.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team to achieve high performance.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue enhancement.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Master’s degree (MBA) with a finance focus is preferred.
• 10+ years of finance experience, including senior management roles.
• Experience in the logistics or shipping industry is an advantage.
• Proven leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
