Head of HR – Financial Services

About the role

A rapidly growing financial services group, represented by Sheer Logic Management Consultants, is looking for an experienced Head of Human Resources to lead its people function strategically and operationally. The role works closely with executive leadership to build scalable HR systems, strengthen organisational culture, develop talent and align workforce strategy with business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the HR strategy and workforce plan, advising on organisational design, restructuring and change management
• Oversee recruitment for critical and leadership positions, build talent pipelines and succession plans, and strengthen onboarding
• Design performance management frameworks, KPIs and scorecards; promote a high-performance, customer-focused culture
• Drive engagement, wellness, retention and talent development, and support managers with performance issues
• Oversee compensation, benefits, incentive and commission structures, and payroll, including pension and medical benefits
• Ensure compliance with labour laws, lead disciplinary and grievance processes, and manage staff committee and union relations
• Monitor HR risks such as turnover and absenteeism, and maintain accurate HR records and reporting
• Lead an HR team covering HR business partnering, operations, payroll and learning and development

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field; a Master's is an added advantage
• At least 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, including 3-5 years in a senior HR leadership or management role
• Demonstrable experience in banking, microfinance, fintech or the wider financial services sector
• Experience building HR systems, grading structures, reward frameworks and performance management processes
• Current professional certification and active membership with a recognised HR body such as IHRM/CHRP(K), CIPM, SHRM or CIPD
