Head of Legacy Engineering & Migration Enablement

About the role

The Head of Legacy Engineering & Migration Enablement will lead Turnkey Africa's legacy engineering portfolio, safeguarding the company's most important revenue streams while driving modernisation and migration initiatives. This senior on‑site role balances running existing services, growing new capabilities, and delivering safe migration to the Evolve platform.

Key responsibilities

• Protect legacy revenue and ensure continuous customer support through application support, incident management and change control.
• Maintain engineering coverage and recovery readiness in partnership with Platform Operations.
• Build and sustain a resilient team, closing capacity gaps via hiring, partners and cross‑training.
• Own delivery of legacy statements of work, projects and upgrades, aligning estimates, resources and testing to meet commitments.
• Lead the integrated migration plan, coordinating business‑rule discovery, data conversion, rehearsals, cut‑over and rollback readiness.
• Manage the portfolio roadmap, budget, risks and quarterly outcomes, providing evidence to the CTO and executive committee.

Required profile

• 5+ years in engineering or enterprise technology with at least 2 years leading teams or complex delivery portfolios.
• Proven experience protecting revenue‑critical production services while delivering customer‑focused SOWs.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to communicate trade‑offs at executive level.
• Calm, pragmatic leadership style with a focus on risk transparency and people development.
