Head of Platform & Architecture

About the role

Turnkey Africa Kenya is seeking a senior leader to own the Architecture & API Standards portfolio, the Evolve Studio platform, shared experience foundations and quality‑assurance squads. The role will provide clear technical direction, reusable capabilities and objective quality evidence to product teams across the insurance software ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce architecture and API standards, maintain domain boundaries, data contracts and integration patterns.
• Lead the design and delivery of reusable Evolve Studio capabilities such as product configuration, pricing, workflow and multitenancy.
• Build and maintain shared frontend foundations, design system and reusable components for consistent user journeys.
• Set QA strategy, drive test automation, regression and performance validation, and publish release‑quality evidence.
• Develop and mentor squad leads, manage roadmap, budget and hiring plan, and report progress to the CTO and executive committee.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with senior architecture or platform leadership, preferably in regulated, insurance‑focused environments.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional squads of 5+ members, make strategic decisions under delivery pressure and communicate with executives.
• Experience delivering reusable configuration platforms or shared frontend capabilities adopted by multiple product teams.
