Health and Wellness Intern

About the role

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is seeking a Health and Wellness Intern to support its Joint Medical Services (JMS) team. Working on‑site in Gigiri, the intern will assist the JMS Senior Nurse in delivering wellness programmes for UN staff over a six‑month period.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating health and wellness communication tools and materials.
• Support health promotion and outreach activities, including fitness challenges and nutrition‑based programmes.
• Provide administrative support for wellness events and the HIV Workplace programme.
• Help disseminate health awareness content via the JMS website, newsletters, and social media.
• Collect and analyse data for monitoring, evaluation, research, surveys, and reporting.
• Contribute to public health awareness initiatives and infectious disease prevention efforts.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the JMS Senior Nurse.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme, final year of a bachelor’s programme, or holder of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD or equivalent.
• Preferred fields of study: Nutrition and Dietetics, Public Health, Wellness Studies, Health Communication, or related areas.
