Hotel Housekeeping Assistant – Full‑time

About the role

The Hotel Housekeeping Assistant will ensure guest rooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standards, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors. This full‑time position is based in Westlands, Nairobi, and involves working closely with the housekeeping team to maintain the hotel's reputation for cleanliness and comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and prepare guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, and restocking amenities.
• Dust, vacuum, mop, and disinfect all assigned areas, performing routine inspections to uphold quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness in corridors, reception, stairways, washrooms, and other common spaces, emptying waste bins and sanitising high‑touch surfaces.
• Assist with laundry duties, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and storing linen, and report any shortages.
• Respond promptly to guest housekeeping requests and report maintenance issues or damages.
• Follow health, safety, and housekeeping procedures, using chemicals and equipment responsibly.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hotel or similar hospitality housekeeping.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift and perform cleaning tasks throughout shifts.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with a professional appearance.

Required skills

• Basic training in housekeeping or hospitality (advantageous but not mandatory).
• Understanding of cleaning procedures, sanitation practices, and housekeeping standards.
