Housekeeping Trainee

About the role

The Housekeeping Trainee will work under the guidance of the Training Manager and Departmental Trainer to learn all aspects of housekeeping operations at a luxury hotel. This onsite internship offers hands‑on experience in guest room care, public area maintenance, and hotel service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean corridors, public areas and assigned guest rooms, ensuring equipment and pantries are tidy.
• Provide turn‑down service, replenish supplies, and verify room condition, reporting any repairs needed.
• Answer guest questions and requests courteously, and coordinate with supervisors for special items or incidents.
• Maintain accurate assignment sheets, report unusual situations, and log lost‑and‑found items.
• Inspect public areas, verify contractor work, and ensure compliance with Kempinski standards.
• Assist with inventory control, monitor usage of amenities, and support budgeting of cleaning supplies.
• Participate in housekeeping projects, record keeping, and administrative duties such as meetings and reports.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Hotel Management (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Less than one year since completion (2025/2026) and no prior work experience required.
• Kenyan citizenship.
• Ability to work in a multinational environment with good communication and grooming standards.
• Positive learning attitude and outgoing personality.
