HR Assistant – Entry Level (Nairobi)

About the role

Our client, a leading FMCG company in Nairobi, is looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented HR Assistant to support daily HR operations. This entry‑level position offers the chance to gain hands‑on experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and compliance with Kenyan labour laws, with occasional travel to operational sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the full recruitment cycle, from posting vacancies to coordinating interviews.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Support onboarding processes and facilitate employee relations initiatives.
• Ensure HR procedures comply with company policies and Kenyan labour legislation.
• Travel occasionally to last‑mile operational areas to provide HR support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an HR department.
• Basic understanding of HR practices and Kenyan labour laws.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and a proactive attitude to develop into an HR Officer role.
