HR Associate

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking an HR Associate to join its I‑Hub team in Kenya. You will guide new hires through the pre‑employment and onboarding journey, ensuring a smooth, compliant, and welcoming experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full onboarding cycle: pre‑arrival communication, orientation scheduling, documentation collection, system setup and integration.
• Maintain ongoing contact with candidates after offer acceptance, tracking onboarding tasks, data collection, compliance acknowledgements, and orientations using Workday, Cornerstone and Teams.
• Provide onboarding kits, facilitate introductions to teams, and ensure technical and administrative setup for new staff.
• Manage structured exit processes, including terminal dues and final clearance in line with Kenyan labor law.
• Support recruitment coordination with Recruiting Associates and hiring managers.
• Track and maintain all onboarding, pre‑employment, and benefits paperwork, updating the HRIS as needed.
