HR Consultant (Part-Time)

About the role

Brites Management Services is looking for an HR Consultant to provide professional HR advisory and consultancy services to clients in Nairobi. The role is part-time and covers HR strategy, policies, compliance, recruitment, performance management, employee relations and HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess clients' HR structures and practices, advise on workforce planning, talent management and HR best practices, and guide complex employee relations matters.
• Develop, review and update HR policies, procedures and employee handbooks, and advise on compliance with Kenyan labour laws and employment regulations.
• Support recruitment and selection, job profiling, job descriptions, onboarding and employee retention.
• Design performance management systems, KPIs and appraisal frameworks, and support training and development plans.
• Advise on disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, workplace investigations, separation and redundancy.
• Strengthen HR departments and administrative systems, including leave, attendance, records, payroll coordination and HR reporting, and conduct HR audits.
• Build client relationships, carry out HR needs assessments, prepare reports and recommendations, and deliver assignments on time while maintaining confidentiality.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Human Resource Management or a closely related field, or a degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant experience as an HR Consultant, HR Manager, HR Business Partner or in a senior HR management position.
• Demonstrated experience in HR advisory and consultancy or in managing comprehensive HR functions.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan employment and labour laws and HR best practices.
• Membership in a recognised professional HR body such as IHRM, and relevant HR certifications, are an added advantage.
