HR Internship – HRIS Implementation Support

About the role

Career Directions Limited is seeking a motivated HR Intern to support the rollout of a new Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and assist with day‑to‑day HR operations. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to HRIS implementation and core HR functions within a fast‑paced organization.

Key responsibilities

• Support HRIS rollout by liaising with the vendor, testing features, and troubleshooting issues.
• Prepare, clean, and migrate employee data into the new system while maintaining confidentiality.
• Assist with user acceptance testing and train staff on the HRIS once live.
• Maintain a tracker of employee letters, contracts, and renewal dates, flagging upcoming expirations.
• Draft standard HR letters (offer, confirmation, renewal) for review and sign‑off.
• Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including filing, record‑keeping, onboarding and off‑boarding activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from a recognized Kenyan university.
• At least one year of experience in an HR role or internship.
• Prior exposure to HRIS systems is mandatory.
• Experience in a fast‑paced environment; tech‑industry experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HRIS platforms (data migration, testing, user training).
• Strong command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
