Information Management for Evaluation Support Internship

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking an intern to support the Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU) with information management for decentralized evaluations. The role is based in Nairobi and lasts six months.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with knowledge and information management related to decentralized evaluations.
• Maintain and improve simple tracking tools for evaluations, recommendations and follow‑up actions.
• Support structuring, filing and archiving of evaluation reports and related documentation.
• Develop workflow automation using Microsoft 365 tools such as Power Automate, SharePoint, Lists, Teams and Outlook.
• Contribute to internal workflow improvements, reminders, document routing and notifications.
• Prepare and format guidance notes or user instructions for internal use.
• Provide general administrative and information‑management support to the IEU.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or graduated from a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD programme in information management, information systems, library & information science, evaluation, social sciences, development studies or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in UN work and commitment to its Charter ideals.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Fluency in oral and written English; knowledge of French is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with workflow automation and information‑sharing tools (Teams, Outlook, Lists).
