Information Systems Officer (P3)

About the role

The United Nations Office at Nairobi is seeking an Information Systems Officer (P3) to provide advanced operational oversight, coordination and technical leadership for its service‑provider style ICT infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief of the ICT Service and the Chief of the Infrastructure Management Section, the incumbent will play a key role in ensuring reliable and secure information systems that support UN programmes in Kenya and globally.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day‑to‑day operations of ICT infrastructure services delivered by external providers.
• Monitor performance, availability and security of network, server and data centre assets.
• Develop and enforce operational procedures, service level agreements and incident response processes.
• Collaborate with UNON units, UNEP, UN‑Habitat and other partners to align ICT services with programme needs.
• Prepare technical reports, status updates and recommendations for senior management.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Professional experience in managing large‑scale ICT infrastructure in an international or multi‑agency environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work under the guidance of senior ICT leadership and to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
