Information Technology Intern

About the role

The Information Technology Intern will work under the Senior ICT Officer in a dynamic NGO environment, gaining hands‑on experience across core ICT functions. The role supports the organization’s mission by ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient ICT services for staff, meetings, events, and field activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide help‑desk assistance for standard software and hardware issues.
• Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
• Support network troubleshooting, monitoring, and routine maintenance.
• Follow up on ICT equipment repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Deliver ICT support during meetings, events, and field operations.
• Participate in ICT security operations, including threat monitoring, policy enforcement, audit assistance, and compliance checks.
• Document and escalate unresolved issues to senior ICT staff.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the ICT supervisor.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to learn.
• Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Basic networking concepts and PC maintenance.
• Experience with MS Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Knowledge of desktop operating systems.
• Understanding of Cisco routing, switching, and voice technologies.
