About the role

The Inside Sales Engineer will drive revenue growth for Edwards Vacuum’s VTS business in the United States by combining proactive outbound prospecting with close collaboration with outside sales and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Generate and qualify leads through outbound calls, emails and digital outreach.
  • Manage and grow assigned customer accounts, ensuring regular follow‑up and relationship development.
  • Partner with Outside Sales colleagues to align territory strategy and support joint opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations via phone or video conference.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of interactions, pipeline activity and sales progress.
  • Respond to inbound inquiries with product information, pricing and support to drive conversions.
  • Identify upselling and cross‑selling opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Coordinate with operations, logistics and customer service to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity, sharing insights with the sales team.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales targets and KPIs.
  • Attend off‑site sales meetings and customer visits with Service Sales Engineers as required.

Required profile

  • Degree‑level education preferred; relevant work experience considered.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with customers and internal teams.
  • Experience in a customer‑facing role and managing databases.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using CRM systems for prospect and opportunity management.
  • Knowledge of SAP BW (a plus, not required).
  • Familiarity with vacuum technologies and Edwards Vacuum product portfolio.
