Intake Coordinator II

About the role

Transcarent is hiring an Intake Coordinator II to act as a liaison between its 2nd.MD service and current and potential members. The role educates members on the benefits of 2nd.MD, promotes member satisfaction and experience, and works in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. It is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with hours of 7am-4pm, 8am-5pm, 9am-6pm or 10am-7pm CST.

Key responsibilities

• Answer calls and proactively explain 2nd.MD benefits to members
• Perform telephonic intake and medical triage to the appropriate nurse team member
• Assign electronic case requests to nurses based on the member's medical concern or diagnosis
• Guide members on their health plan resources and activate new member accounts, resetting passwords and updating member data in the database
• Manage an active inventory of requests with timely follow-up and assist specialists with account concerns
• Navigate internal systems to obtain data, make outbound calls to webinar attendees and maintain email distribution lists
• Research and coordinate provider options, verify provider availability, specialty and network participation, and verify member eligibility using health plan carrier databases
• Collaborate with the Monitor team on tech issues and with the clinical team on specialist or consultation concerns
• Meet team and personal qualitative and quantitative targets

Required profile

• Certified Medical Assistant preferred
• 1+ year of professional experience in a medical office setting
• Ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks with minimal direction and to coordinate across departments
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
