Internships & Open Roles at Ujima Foundation

About the role

Ujima Foundation, a sustainable urban development organisation in Kenya, is offering a range of internship and entry‑level positions across Kisumu and Nakuru. Candidates will support youth employability programmes, financial administration, community outreach, conservation activities and hospitality services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, process daily transactions and assist with budgeting (Finance & Admin Internship, Kisumu).
• Deliver youth employability workshops on CV writing, interview skills and workplace conduct (Employability Skills Trainer Internship).
• Support case management, assessments, referrals and follow‑up for vulnerable families (Social Worker Intern, Kisumu).
• Lead guided nature walks, sharing conservation knowledge and ensuring visitor safety (Nature Walk Guide Intern).
• Create and manage social media content to increase online presence and community engagement (Social Media Marketer, Nakuru).
• Provide food and beverage service, maintaining hygiene and presentation standards (Food & Beverage Service, Nakuru).
• Maintain grounds, perform landscaping and minor repairs to keep facilities clean and safe (Grounds & General Maintenance, Nakuru).
• Lead monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities across programmes (MEAL Officer, Kisumu).

Required profile

• Motivated individuals with a passion for community development and youth empowerment.
• Students or recent graduates in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Hospitality or related fields.
• Ability to work onsite in Kisumu or Nakuru for the duration of the internship or employment period.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy for record‑keeping and social media tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for training and outreach.
