Investment Analyst

About the role

CIC Insurance is hiring a full-time Investment Analyst in Nairobi, reporting to the Head of Research & Innovation. The role provides strategic support and analytical insights to drive informed business decisions, covering research, investment analysis and recommendations on equity and fixed income investments.

Key responsibilities

• Data analysis: collect, analyse and interpret data to generate insights and recommendations, identifying trends, patterns and anomalies
• Market research and competitor analysis, keeping up with industry trends, market dynamics and emerging technologies
• Financial analysis: assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling, monitor key financial metrics and prepare reports
• Report generation: create detailed reports and dashboards on business performance, trends and opportunities
• Process improvement: identify inefficiencies and propose solutions to streamline operations
• Project support: help plan, execute and track projects with cross-functional teams
• Presentation skills: prepare and deliver clear, concise presentations to stakeholders
• Investment research: research asset classes, industries and companies, analysing financial statements, market trends and economic indicators
• Financial modelling: build and maintain models to assess returns, risks and valuation of investments
• Investment reporting: prepare reports and presentations and communicate investment recommendations and performance analysis

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Investment, Finance or a related field
• Progression towards CFA qualification or equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience in investment analysis
