Senior Relationship Officer SME

About the role

Old Mutual is hiring a Senior Relationship Officer SME for its Faulu microfinance business in Westlands, Nairobi. The role combines client acquisition, loan recovery, deposit mobilization and cross-selling of bank products, with a focus on MSME lending and portfolio quality.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively market and generate business, focusing on deposit mobilization, loan disbursement and revenue growth
• Make regular calls and visits to customers to manage relationships and ensure satisfaction
• Cross-sell Faulu products and services to existing and potential clients
• Prepare credit appraisals and analyses and present them to the Branch Credit Committee
• Monitor portfolio quality daily and take remedial action; recover loans on time to keep delinquency below 3% after 30 days
• Promote digital banking adoption (Digi Cash, Internet Banking, USSD)
• Support Sales Consultants, recruit, train and manage agency banking partners, and liaise with local authorities to reinforce collections

Required profile

• At least 5 years as a Universal Banker in MSME business lending, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience
• Business-related degree from a recognized university
• Accounts qualification and Section 4 of CPAs; a Master's degree is preferred but not required
