IT Officer – Factory Site (Ruiru)

About the role

BURN is seeking an IT Officer to support and maintain IT operations at its factory site in Ruiru. The role ensures a reliable IT infrastructure, provides timely technical support, and contributes to key IT projects that drive operational excellence across the manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain local IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and endpoint devices.
• Provide first‑ and second‑line technical support to Kenya‑based staff in coordination with the Helpdesk Manager.
• Ensure network security, data backup, and disaster recovery procedures are regularly tested.
• Coordinate system monitoring, uptime, and incident response with the NOC Manager.
• Deploy and manage enterprise software, user accounts, and access permissions.
• Support audio/video conferencing and collaboration tools.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and advise on procurement needs.
• Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and local regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN) and Windows/Linux server administration.
• Experience with cloud services such as Microsoft 365 and Azure.
• Familiarity with IT security best practices and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
