IT Support Specialist – Nairobi (National)

About the role

The Information Technology Support Specialist provides day‑to‑day maintenance of computer and network systems for Church World Service in Kenya. The role serves as the first point of contact for staff and field teams needing technical assistance, ensuring reliable IT services across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for technical support via phone or service‑desk system, performing remote troubleshooting and escalating unresolved issues.
• Record incidents, resolutions, and provide regular performance reports to IT supervisors.
• Prepare, configure and deploy IT equipment for field teams, including travel to remote locations as needed.
• Administer, monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance.
• Configure and support network devices such as Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and Meraki wireless access points.
• Conduct network diagnostics, root‑cause analysis and resolve connectivity issues.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural, non‑profit environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a customer‑service orientation.
• Willingness to travel periodically to field sites.
