Laundry Attendant – Housekeeping & Laundry

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Laundry Attendant to join our team at a furnished apartment in Westlands, Nairobi. The role combines laundry and housekeeping duties, ensuring guests enjoy clean linens and well‑maintained rooms.

Key responsibilities

• Sort and prepare linens, towels, uniforms and other items for washing.
• Operate washing machines and dryers, selecting appropriate settings and adding detergents or chemicals.
• Fold, hang and store cleaned items, maintaining accurate inventory.
• Inspect items for cleanliness and condition, discarding damaged pieces.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laundry equipment, reporting any faults.
• Follow health, safety and chemical‑handling protocols.
• Provide courteous service to guests and respond to specific laundry requests.
• Assist with daily cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms and public areas.
• Report maintenance issues and support quick room turnovers.

Required profile

• Diploma (minimum qualification).
• At least 2 years of experience in laundry or housekeeping.
• Entry‑level / junior candidate.
• Male candidates preferred, but the role is open to all genders.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial washing machines and dryers.
• Basic chemical handling and safety compliance.
• Inventory management for linens and towels.
