Lecturer II (Community Health)

About the role

KMTC is recruiting a Lecturer II in Community Health for its KMTC 8 programme in Nairobi (Westlands). The post is full time and involves teaching, assessment and curriculum work in community health.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and evaluate students, and prepare schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans
• Assess students in clinical areas and guide and counsel them on academic matters
• Support the design of instruments to assess health training needs
• Develop guidelines for evaluating health teaching materials across health fields
• Evaluate training programmes for effectiveness and relevance to current and future health needs
• Implement the competence-based curriculum
• Plan and organize continuing education programmes for health workers
• Conduct research in the specialization, including operational research, and supervise student research projects
• Take part in formulating and implementing new training strategies

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Community Health and Development, or Bachelor of Science in Community Health or equivalent
• OR a KMTC Higher Diploma in Community Health and Health Promotion with at least six years of practice in the field
• Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable
• Valid practicing license
