Logistics Coordinator - Telecom Project (Kenya)

About the role

Stratostaff East Africa is recruiting a Logistics Coordinator for a telecom project in Kenya. The role covers import documentation, tax and duty exemptions, coordination with customs authorities and freight forwarders, shipment tracking and reporting. It is listed as a seasonal position based in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all import documentation (IDF, Certificate of Conformity, Bill of Lading, packing lists) and liaise directly with KRA, KEBS and the Communication Authority of Kenya for telecom equipment approvals.
• Prepare, submit and track tax and duty exemption applications with KRA, the National Treasury and relevant ministries.
• Serve as the primary local interface: validate invoices, monitor clearance operations and escalate blocking points.
• Track shipments from origin port or airport to the final delivery site and proactively manage demurrage and detention risks at Mombasa port.
• Deliver weekly status reports, keep complete import records and proof of delivery documents, and monitor regulatory changes affecting the project.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in supply chain logistics, customs clearance and import operations in Kenya.
• Proven track record managing tax exemption processes with KRA and the National Treasury.
• Experience coordinating with international freight forwarders on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Prior experience with telecom, energy or capital equipment projects is a strong advantage.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work within international project teams.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of KRA iCMS, IDF procedures and Kenyan import regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
