Loss Control Officer

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Loss Control Officer in Mlolongo within the manufacturing industry. The role safeguards inventory against losses, pilferage, damage and wastage through monitoring, stock checks and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, control and safeguard all inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods.
• Carry out routine and ad hoc stock counts and reconcile physical stock with system records.
• Investigate and report inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Enforce inventory handling procedures, storage standards and access controls across warehouses, production areas and yards.
• Implement and maintain loss control systems, internal controls and SOPs.
• Work with procurement, production, warehouse, logistics and finance teams to strengthen supply chain controls.
• Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation measures, and support internal and external audits.
• Report loss control, inventory performance and risk assessment results to management.
• Train staff on loss prevention, inventory accuracy and material handling, and monitor supplier deliveries, transfers and dispatches.

Required profile

• Degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management, Supply Chain Management or a related business field.
• 2-3 years' experience in loss control or supply chain management within a manufacturing company.
• Experience with Hipora training is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of inventory control systems and risk management principles.
