Lower Primary Mathematics, Science & Technology Teacher

About the role

Strathmore School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic teacher to deliver Mathematics, Science and Technology to lower‑primary learners (Grades 1‑3). The successful candidate will create engaging, age‑appropriate lessons that align with Kenya’s Competency Based Curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality Mathematics and Science & Technology lessons for Grades 1‑3.
• Design learning activities that follow the Competency Based Curriculum.
• Monitor and assess learner progress, providing timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance and development.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and school leadership to support learner wellbeing.
• Participate in staff meetings, school activities and professional development.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification with Mathematics as the primary specialism.
• Valid TSC registration or eligibility to register.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for teaching young learners and ability to make mathematics enjoyable.
• Desirable: prior experience teaching Grades 1‑3 and familiarity with the CBC framework.
• Personal attributes: patient, nurturing, organised, reliable and a collaborative team player.
