Market Access Lead – Tanzania (Fixed-Term)

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a senior Market Access Lead to shape and execute its market‑access strategy across Tanzania. This fixed‑term position will guide the selection, design, and scaling of value‑chain initiatives that connect smallholder farmers to profitable markets.

Key responsibilities

• Define a multi‑year market‑access roadmap, prioritising value chains such as cashew and avocado.
• Conduct opportunity assessments to decide on investment, partnership, pilot or scale‑up options.
• Translate country‑level goals into a balanced portfolio that manages growth and risk.
• Design commercially viable processing and aggregation models, choosing between direct or partner‑led delivery.
• Identify, negotiate and manage strategic partnerships to enable value‑chain execution.
• Lead a cross‑functional team delivering both farmer‑facing and commercial workstreams.

Required profile

• Proven strategic leadership experience in agricultural market systems or agribusiness.
• Strong understanding of smallholder farmer challenges and commercial value‑chain dynamics.
• Ability to move between high‑level strategy and operational execution.
• Experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams and external partners.
