Medical Assistant I – Bilingual Spanish

About the role

We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) Medical Assistant I to support providers in a fast‑paced clinical environment. The role involves preparing patients, assisting with examinations, performing minor procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Document patient histories, chief complaints, vital signs, and medication information in the EHR.
• Prepare exam rooms, assist providers during examinations and procedures, and perform minor procedures under supervision.
• Collect and label specimens, conduct basic lab tests (e.g., UA/UPT, EKG, HGB), and administer medications or vaccines as ordered.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies, monitor vaccine storage temperatures, and report shortages or equipment issues.
• Clean and sterilize exam rooms and instruments, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and internal policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and a Medical Assistant certification.
• At least one year of medical or clinical experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate fluently in both Spanish and English.
• Commitment to maintain required certifications, licenses, and continuing education.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience using Electronic Health Record systems such as IMS, EPIC, and Dentrix.
