Medical Laboratory Technologist – Full‑Time

About the role

The Startup Lions Assets Kenya Limited (SLAK) and Lions Strength CBO are seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technologist to join the health services team at the Loropio Dispensary in Turkana. This full‑time position supports patient care by delivering reliable laboratory diagnostic services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine laboratory tests, including specimen collection, processing, analysis, and timely reporting.
• Maintain laboratory quality assurance and control standards, report critical results, and manage equipment faults and servicing needs.
• Handle patient identification, specimen storage, referral, and disposal according to approved procedures.
• Manage reagents, consumables, stock monitoring, and expiry‑date checks.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, registers, and electronic health information systems.

Required profile

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences/Technology from a recognised institution.
• Registered and licensed to practise in Kenya with a valid practising licence.
• Experience in a hospital, health centre, dispensary, NGO, or community health setting – preferably in a remote or rural environment.
• Good computer, communication, record‑keeping, and reporting skills.
