About the role
The Medical Officer will oversee clinical progress of both inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring treatment plans adhere to medical protocols and supporting quality patient care in Machakos.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and review clinical progress of inpatient and outpatient cases to ensure alignment with established protocols.
- Coordinate patient discharge with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with insurance providers.
- Communicate medical updates to patients and families, advocating for their understanding of treatment plans.
- Participate in clinical audits to improve patient outcomes.
Required profile
- MBChB degree from a recognized university.
- Valid practising licence from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- 2–3 years of clinical practice; management experience is an advantage.
Required skills
- Familiarity with ICD-10/11 coding.
- Knowledge of Kenya’s health insurance landscape (SHA and private insurers).
