Medical Officer - Ruaraka

About the role

Equity Afia is seeking a qualified Medical Officer to join its team at the Ruaraka facility in Westlands, Nairobi. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality clinical care, ensure compliance with health policies, and support the hospital’s reporting and information systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in a hospital setting.
• Document clinical encounters accurately and submit required reports.
• Apply and uphold Kenyan healthcare laws, regulations, and health schemes.
• Utilise Health Management Information Systems for patient data entry and retrieval.
• Participate in emergency response using Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support protocols.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or MBBS) from a recognised university.
• Registered with a valid licence from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• Minimum of one year internship experience in a public or private hospital.
• Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Familiarity with Kenyan healthcare policies, documentation, and reporting procedures.
• Proficient computer skills, especially with Health Management Information Systems.
