Monitoring and Evaluation Supervisor (National)

About the role

The Monitoring and Evaluation Supervisor will serve as the lead technical focal point for monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning across CWS Africa humanitarian and development programmes. Based in Nairobi, the role will guide evidence‑based programme design, continuous improvement and donor reporting while collaborating closely with program teams, partners and headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning plans, including indicators, targets, assumptions and reporting timelines.
• Design and update data collection tools, monitoring templates, indicator reference sheets and reporting formats in partnership with programme teams.
• Conduct needs assessments, baseline studies, mid‑term reviews, lessons‑learned exercises and end‑line evaluations, contributing to protocols, tools, data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Coordinate external special assessments and evaluations such as gender analysis, environmental impact assessments and impact evaluations.
• Track project performance against work plans, logical frameworks, results frameworks and donor indicators, flagging gaps or emerging risks.
• Support M&E officers and project managers in documenting and disseminating lessons learned, success stories and evidence products to promote adaptive management.
