Music Teacher – Full-time

About the role

A school in Naivasha is seeking a passionate and experienced Music Teacher to inspire a love for music across the school community. The role involves delivering engaging lessons in music theory, general music and performance while organising events that showcase student growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver creative lesson plans in music theory, general music and instrumental/choral instruction.
• Assess, track and provide feedback on student progress in rhythm, pitch and performance skills.
• Organise and lead musical performances, concerts and assemblies.
• Create an inclusive classroom that fosters creativity, respect and collaboration.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects that integrate music.
• Support extracurricular activities such as choirs, school band or music clubs.
• Communicate student progress and achievements to parents and guardians.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music or a related field (Master’s or teaching credential advantageous).
• Recognised teaching qualification; TSC registration preferred.
• Previous experience teaching music at primary and/or secondary level.
• Ability to lead choirs, ensembles or school bands.
• Enthusiastic, creative, student‑centred with strong classroom management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one musical instrument (multi‑instrumental ability a plus).
• Knowledge of CBC and/or Cambridge curriculum.
