Operations Supervisor – Logistics (Mombasa)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Operations Supervisor to manage daily logistics activities at our Mombasa branch. The role involves coordinating shipments, supervising staff, and ensuring high service standards while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily branch operations to ensure efficient execution of logistics activities.
• Coordinate movement, dispatch, and delivery of shipments, meeting service level agreements.
• Monitor vehicle scheduling, route planning, and driver performance to maximise efficiency.
• Ensure accurate documentation for shipments, deliveries, collections, and inventory movements.
• Oversee drivers, riders, loaders and other operational staff, enforcing company procedures.
• Track branch performance, recommend process improvements for productivity and cost efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues, delivery delays, customer complaints and service disruptions.
• Maintain communication with customers, transporters, warehouse teams and internal departments.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, company policies, health and safety standards, and security procedures.
• Conduct daily operational briefings and provide guidance to staff.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational reports for management.
• Monitor fleet utilisation and coordinate routine vehicle maintenance.
• Safeguard customer cargo and support business continuity during emergencies.
• Assist in staff training, performance monitoring and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years (60 months) experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
• Strong knowledge of logistics operations within Mombasa and the Nairobi transport corridor.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
