Oral Health Officer (Dental Care)

About the role

The Oral Health Officer will provide comprehensive dental care to patients at NHC Maisha’s facilities, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients’ teeth and oral cavity, assess dental conditions, and determine treatment needs.
• Interpret dental X‑rays, perform radiography, and document findings.
• Carry out restorative procedures such as cavity filling, tooth rebuilding, and placement of prosthetics.
• Perform extractions of severely damaged teeth and manage gum disease treatment.
• Provide oral hygiene instruction, prescribe medications, and write dental prescriptions.
• Take dental impressions for study casts and prosthetic fabrication.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders to prevent stock‑outs.
• Record daily activities, prepare reports, and document patient dental histories.

Required profile

• Degree in Oral Health.
• Minimum two years of experience in a busy hospital setting.
• Registered Oral Health Officer with a valid practicing license.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours when needed.
