Part-time Senior Lecturer in Health Management, Informatics & Economics

About the role

Amref International University seeks a part‑time senior lecturer to teach and mentor students in health management, health informatics and health economics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars and skills‑based sessions in public health.
• Design, develop, review and implement curricula, syllabi and examination materials.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship and supervision for master’s and PhD candidates.
• Participate in departmental, faculty and university committees, quality‑assurance and accreditation activities.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research, publish findings and apply for research grants.

Required profile

• PhD in Public Health (Health Management, Informatics or Health Economics) or a related discipline.
• At least five years of university teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, postgraduate supervision and scholarly publication.
• Registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.

• Strong pedagogical, assessment and feedback abilities.
• Excellent research, grant‑writing and academic writing competencies.
• Good ICT skills, including use of learning and research management platforms.
• Effective communication, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
