Part‑time PhD Peer Reviewer – Geological Engineering

About the role

This is a long‑term, stable part‑time position that allows you to work remotely as a peer reviewer for scholarly manuscripts in geological engineering. You will support journal editors by providing rigorous, constructive assessments of submitted research.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty of manuscripts and determine whether they add new knowledge to the field.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility of the research.
• Check that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions to ensure they are clearly presented and supported by data.
• Provide detailed, constructive feedback and highlight any ethical concerns.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in geological engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical‑thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage time effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.
