Part‑time PhD Peer Reviewer – Metallurgical Engineering

About the role

We are seeking experienced researchers with a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering to join our editorial team as part‑time peer reviewers. This long‑term, stable position is fully remote and allows you to contribute to the quality of scientific publications while maintaining your own research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and scientific contribution of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Verify that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity and relevance.
• Provide constructive, objective feedback and highlight any ethical concerns.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent in Metallurgical Engineering or a closely related field.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to confidentiality and objectivity.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
