Part‑time PhD Peer Reviewer – Water Resource Engineering

About the role

This is a long‑term, stable part‑time position that allows you to work remotely reviewing scholarly manuscripts in water resource engineering. You will support journal editors by providing expert, objective assessments of submitted research.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty of each manuscript and determine its contribution to the field.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Verify that the literature review is comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity, validity, and significance.
• Provide constructive, written feedback highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and any ethical concerns.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewed publications in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical‑thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to confidentiality and objectivity.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
