Part‑time Senior Lecturer in Health Professions Education

About the role

Amref International University seeks a part‑time Senior Lecturer to teach and mentor students in Public Health, Health Professions Education and Medical Education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars and skills‑based sessions in Public Health.
• Design, develop, review and implement curricula and syllabi.
• Develop, moderate and administer examinations and provide academic advising.
• Participate in departmental, faculty and university committees, quality‑assurance and accreditation activities.
• Supervise Master’s and PhD candidates, mentor junior academic staff and represent the department at external forums.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research, publish findings and manage research grants.

Required profile

• PhD in Public Health (Health Professions Education/Medical Education) or related discipline.
• At least five years of university teaching experience in Public Health at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, postgraduate supervision and scholarly publication.
• Registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.

Required skills

• Health Informatics, Health Records or Health Management knowledge.
• Strong ICT skills, including learning and research management platforms.
• Research methodology, ethics and grant‑writing competence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
