About the role
The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi is seeking an experienced Physics Teacher for the Senior School. The successful candidate will deliver IB MYP and DP Physics, fostering inquiry‑based learning in a multicultural environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality Physics lessons aligned with IB MYP and DP frameworks.
- Design practical investigations and experimental work to develop conceptual understanding and scientific thinking.
- Create, administer and moderate formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback.
- Use differentiated teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom climate that promotes curiosity and well‑being.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents and colleagues.
- Contribute to co‑curricular programmes and school enrichment activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including IB training.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Physics Education (Master’s degree desirable).
- Minimum 5 years of secondary Physics teaching experience.
- Experience teaching within an international curriculum, preferably IB MYP and/or DP.
- Proven ability to work in a diverse, multicultural school setting.
Required skills
- Strong subject knowledge in Physics.
- Familiarity with IB MYP and DP curriculum and assessment standards.
