Play Group Apprentice Teacher – Early Childhood

About the role

Nova Pioneer is seeking a Play Group Apprentice Teacher to join the team at Tatu Primary School. This entry‑level position offers the chance to support young learners in a vibrant, inquiry‑based environment while developing practical teaching skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for children.
• Plan and deliver daily activities aligned with the curriculum, addressing social, physical, and emotional needs.
• Co‑create a developmentally appropriate classroom setting with the resident teacher.
• Participate in daily team meetings, weekly professional development sessions, and instructional coaching.
• Assist in ongoing assessment of student progress and adapt instruction based on data.
• Offer a variety of materials for exploration, imaginative play, and hands‑on learning.
• Supervise the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.
• Organise and lead activities that promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
