Portfolio Manager, Corporate & Mortgage Loans

About the role

The Portfolio Manager will oversee corporate and mortgage loan portfolios for KCB Group, ensuring credit risk is managed, regulatory compliance is met, and loan documentation is accurate. The role operates at both branch and regional levels, focusing on construction facilities, staff‑loan portfolios, and corporate credit lines.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor credit risk for Grade 10 and Grade 20 facilities to prevent migration to non‑performing loans.
• Ensure construction projects meet conditions precedent, milestones, and are fully secured upon completion.
• Review loan documentation for compliance with KCB manuals, policies, and statutory regulations before fund disbursement.
• Manage staff‑on‑exit loan portfolios, converting them to public terms and regularising overdrawn accounts.
• Track insurance renewals to achieve 100% compliance for mortgage facilities under construction.
• Generate and analyse Management Information (MI) reports for portfolio control and regulatory reporting.
• Monitor covenant compliance for corporate portfolios and resolve breaches within SLA timelines.
• Maintain accurate facility data, deferrals register, and exceptions collateral register.
• Approve release of securities and performance bonds for corporate customers and staff loan projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any field; professional qualification in business; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, including credit administration and portfolio management.
• At least 3 years using data‑analytics tools such as Excel, SQL and IFRS 9.
• Experience with core banking systems (T24, CQ, TAC) and people‑leadership responsibilities.
