Principal – Penong Primary School & Preschool

About the role

The Principal will lead Penong Primary School and Preschool, a small, community‑focused site on South Australia’s Far West Coast. This role offers the chance to shape a highly personalised learning environment while building strong relationships with students, families and the wider community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership that aligns with the school’s values of Respect, Achievement and Community.
• Oversee curriculum delivery across two multi‑year level classrooms, ensuring high‑quality education for all students.
• Foster a safe, inclusive and supportive culture that promotes wellbeing, engagement and academic success.
• Develop and maintain authentic relationships with families, local organisations and community stakeholders.
• Manage staff performance, professional development and collaborative teaching practices.
• Lead school improvement planning, data analysis and reporting in line with the SA School and Preschool Education Staff Enterprise Agreement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in school leadership or senior teaching roles.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and community engagement.
• Ability to inspire staff and students in a remote regional setting.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
