Procurement Specialist (Nairobi)

About the role

Puratos is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join its Nairobi team. You will support and optimise procurement operations, ensuring alignment with global standards while driving cost efficiency, supplier performance and compliance with import/export regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Align procurement activities with Puratos’ global strategy, policies and procedures.
• Source raw materials locally and internationally in a cost‑effective manner.
• Create, manage and track purchase orders to guarantee timely delivery.
• Oversee import/export processes, handling documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, clearing agents and government authorities.
• Maintain the supplier database according to vendor‑management standards.
• Support supplier performance evaluations, audits and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with food‑safety, quality and sustainability standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning teams to avoid stock disruptions.
• Prepare procurement reports and deliver actionable insights for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in procurement and supply‑chain operations.
• Proven experience in import/export operations and local sourcing.
• Solid understanding of international trade regulations and Kenyan customs procedures.
• Professional certification (CIPS, CPSP‑K) or KISM membership is an advantage.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
