Production Supervisor / Injection Moulding Foreman

About the role

Afrodrip Ltd, an irrigation solutions company based in Nairobi, Kenya, is expanding by setting up a plastic injection moulding facility to make irrigation fittings and accessories for agriculture. It is looking for an experienced, hands-on Production Supervisor / Injection Moulding Foreman to lead the injection moulding operations and help build the new manufacturing facility.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and supervise plastic injection moulding machines.
• Lead day-to-day production and manage shop-floor personnel.
• Oversee mould installation, machine parameter setting and production changeovers.
• Monitor quality so products meet specifications and standards.
• Troubleshoot machine, mould and process issues to minimize downtime.
• Optimize efficiency, cycle times and material usage.
• Implement preventive maintenance for machines and moulds.
• Train and mentor machine operators and production staff.
• Ensure workplace safety and compliance with company procedures.
• Maintain production records and prepare operational reports.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in plastic injection moulding operations.
• Previous supervisory or foreman experience highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of injection moulding for PP, PE and engineering plastics.
• Experience making irrigation fittings, pipe fittings, valves or similar plastic products is a significant advantage.
• Ability to set machine parameters, optimize processes and solve production issues independently.
• Good understanding of mould maintenance and production planning.
• Technical diploma or engineering background in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Polymer Engineering is an advantage.
• Leadership, communication and team management skills; self-motivated, problem-solving and results-oriented.
